Summer flowers on Troopers Hill

--- Posting from our now closed Forum ---
Walking back from putting up posters round Troopers Hill on Saturday I took a few photos of some of the the plants that are in flower at the moment. So starting with an apology, sorry, I did not find any common blue butterflies http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species. ... ies=icarus but I did find the food plant of its caterpillar is in blossom. Here are some photos of birds foot trefoil including a bee who was very interested in sticking its face right into the blossom.

Look at the lower left hand corner of the next photo - there is the bee

and here the bee is a little magnified.

The golden rod was looking lovely

and an insect has sneaked into this photo.

The mouse-eared hawkweed, with its furry leaves that give it its name was in bloom.

and I was pleased with this photo of a honeysuckle blossom. A plant our parkie likes.

Wood sage is in flower which means there will be plenty of food for the birds when it goes to seed.

Enjoy,
